Reading Joyas Voladoras was a strange experience, it was confusing as although I could see a thin line connecting the story, it also felt at times there was no connection between one part of the story and another part of the story. Despite the confusion I experienced, I did actually quite enjoy the read and found that throughout the story, everything was understandable and brought about the feeling like a weight had been lifted off of my chest. It’s hard to explain but just talking about the lives of these animals, as well as the lives of humans just seems to be interesting to me as I think about how the writer was able to make me understand that as a living being we are all the same no matter the size of the heart, the number of chambers, or even the fact that some living creatures have no heart at all! It may seem weird that talking about the deterioration of a heart is somewhat calming, but knowing that its something natural and unavoidable is freeing in a sense.
