The Tree by Agnes Martin

I noticed while listening to the Anthropocene podcast that the art work from Agnes Martin felt like the opposite of the work compared to the work from Ed Ruscha. While Ed Ruscha’s work was more simplistic where he would just paint out what he saw, Martin did the exact opposite. Martin’s work is strange because at least from what I had seen and heard, I would not be able to identify what the art depicts while a lot of other art pieces some sort of image is able to be formed when you analyze it. Personally I am not a big fan of works of art from Agnes Martin as I am finding it difficult what Martin is trying to depict even with the title let alone trying to identify it without its title. Nevertheless, I would still not bash on the artwork from Martin as she is trying to in her very best ability paining of not the actual item but instead trying to capture its essence and the emotions that come from looking at said object.
